Mc Donough Braungart Design Chemistry has developed the MDBC Index of sustainability, a design tool that evaluates a product’s materials and processes to arrive at a point from which redesign for sustainability can take place. During the process of redesign, the Index continuously reviews and tracks improvement of the product and its surrounding systems. McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry has developed and, in a few cases, is in the process of registering as trademarks certain terms to describe their product and systems design protocol.
