Ethics and Social Responsibility in Engineering and Technology Conference – Call for Abstracts

Situations requiring the use of ethical judgment in specific engineering fields; Effective approaches to teaching ethics and professional responsibility to university engineering students and/or practicing engineers; ” Ethical challenges faced by engineers working in foreign countries; ” Analysis of possible lines of development for codes of engineering ethics; ” The manner in which questions of professionalism, ethics and social responsibility shift in times of war and increased concern for national security. Presentation abstracts need to be approximately 300 words in length. Panel discussion proposals of 100 words require the names of committed panelists. The deadline for submissions is Dec. 1, 2004 and should be sent directly to Mike Stebbins, director of the Gonzaga Institute of Ethics, via e-mail at stebbins@gonzaga.edu or mailed to him care of Gonzaga Institute of Ethics, Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA 99258.
