City of Vancouver National Works Yard gets LEED Gold Rating

On June 17, 2004, Canada Green Building Council CEO Alex Zimmerman presented a LEED-Gold plaque to Vancouver Mayor Larry Campbell at the opening of the City of Vancouver National Avenue Operations Centre. The project received 44 points. 1.5 years in the making, 5 hectares in size, home to 400 staff and Vancouver’s first LEED-certified building, the Operations Centre is the new base of operations for engineering crews that build and maintain Vancouver’s infrastructure. This project was featured in Sustainability 2004: Greening the built environment travelling exhibit hosted by APEGBC and AIBC. See below for more information.
