Idling Bucky

One of the greatest American engineer of the 20th century, Buckminster (Bucky) Fuller worked around the clock for many years. He had invented a life scheme where he catnapped for about 30 minutes after each 6 hours of work. That allowed him to produce around the clock a huge output of work and numerous inventions. Yet, in his last book (Critical Path) Bucky wrote: “ political and economic structures have always fearfully abhorred “idle people” as potential troublemakers. One would hope that …humans start thinking: “ What was it …about when they told me I had to ‘earn my living’. Doing what someone else had decided needed to be done? What do I see that needs to be done that nobody else is attending to? What do I need to learn to be effective in attending to it in a highly efficient and inoffensive-to-others manner?”
